massive recall of frozen vegetables to listeria

The DGCCRF (Directorate-General for competition, consumption and the repression of fraud) announced a massive recall of products containing frozen vegetables (including corn) from the business Greenyard Hungary.

On the government website it is stated that :

“Several case listeriosis in different European countries (in Austria, in Denmark, in Sweden, Finland and the UK) led authorities to the safety of EU countries the power to investigate the causes of this contamination. after investigation, the Hungarian authorities have identified the probable cause in a company plant located on its territory Greenyard. No cases have been identified in France to date.

The 3 July, EFSA made a point https://www.efsa.europa.eu/fr/press/news/180703 sur ces foyers épidémiques alimentaires à l’origine de 47 cas humains dont 9 décès.”

• Marketing period : between the 13 August 2016 and today. L’Office hongrois de sécurité de la chaîne alimentaire a interdit la commercialisation de l’intégralité des légumes surgelés fabriqués par le site hongrois de Greenyard : corn, peas, beans, épinards et oseille. L’entreprise belge a annoncé dans un communiqué de presse l’arrêt de production du site.
