Scandal : Beef contaminated TB

They are no less than 3 000 tons of meat, either 8 000 cattle, contaminated with tuberculosis that ends each year on our plates.

It's the Chained duck which reveals this information with, Apui, DGAL documents (Directorate General of Food).

This situation is alarming but legal !

Indeed, This practice is known and authorized by the health authorities because, according to them, The risk of human contamination is not possible when the animal is rid of its infected organs (liver and kidneys). Concretely when a cattle is diagnosed with sick, He is sent to the slaughterhouse.

Added to this is also the British beef. Great Britain has used to selling a part of [ses] contaminated carcasses reports the weekly. They are no less than 28 000 beasts English in contaminated at tuberculosis which end up on the plates of several European countries including France (Sunday Times – 2013).

A price story ?

Breeders, who are compensated by the state when their cattle are contaminated, sell their carcasses to lower price to supermarkets (between 3,5 and 1,5 € and kg) who, they, sell meat at the same price as that of healthy beef.

The Bigard group is among the companies accused of making money on contaminated meat. Recall that Bigard is also Charal and Socopa.

This meat giant that holds nearly 50% market, indirectly benefits from a quarter of public aid.
